The kids had fun and adults too as Pag-IBIG Fund in Davao had a day of “Trick or Treat” on October 30, 2008 at Pryce Tower Business Park. Some 150 kids feast on popcorn, hotdogs and mallows, cotton candy and line up at the fountain of chocolate, witness the magic and tricks of Bonjing, the magician. With nine stations to do “trick or treat” there’s no stopping of the kid’s thrill filling in their loot bags with goodies. The OVP station was overflowing with stuff of chocolait, jellyace and eaji courtesy of San Miguel Foods, INc. (thanks to Randy Dominguez).
One girl said they had wonderful time and would look forward to the 2009 Trick or Treat of Pag-IBIG Fund.
Atty. Tonet Diaz, chair of the event said that this is their way of treating kids as the world commemorates All Souls Day, a celebration being observed worldwide each year. An event like this also would allow employees’ kids be exposed to the working environment of their parents, giving them idea where their parents work and how their offices look like.
Vice President Jose W. Banzon, Jr. of the Fund’s Southern Mindanao Group said occasions like this also strengthens camaraderie among workers as they further build team work while members of their respective families get the chance to interact with one another, find new friends and renew existing friendship.
He said the Halloween Trick or Treat also was observed in their three other branches in General Santos City, Tagum City and Cotabato City.
The Halloween Trick or Treat was celebrated in all branches of Pag-IBIG Fund as its President, Atty. Romero FS Quimbo asked the Fund’s officers and employees to undertake such event in observance of All Souls Day in line with Management’s thrust of fostering fellowship among the members of Pag-IBIG Family.
In Davao, the nine units dressed up their areas for Halloween with the Admin & Accounting Division getting the best dressed award. Used carbon papers, old newspapers, dried grass and vines, and other indegenous materials were used to transform the area into a “horror house” with matching sound and lighting effects. The employees of this division were all in black and matched their attire with the witch hat.
Diaz said they were able to deliver what was expected of them even without budget but what was important was that everybody had their share of making the event a SUCCESS !
